Meet 2023 APTA Leadership Scholar – Natalie Surut, PT, DPT
Please help the Academy congratulate Natalie Surut, PT, DPT for being selected as a 2023 APTA Association Leadership Scholar! The APTA Association Leadership Scholars Program was established during APTA’s 2021 centennial year and demonstrates APTA’s investment in the sustainability of the association by promoting and building a diverse pool of future leaders. Natalie Surut, PT, DPT is a pelvic health physical therapist and president of the Women In Leadership Special Interest Group through APTA UT. She graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Utah in 2022, where she was awarded the Elizabeth Fuhriman Gardner Prize for The Outstanding Woman Student in the Health Sciences. Natalie is passionate about advocacy for gender and health equity within the profession of physical therapy to increase female leadership and champion diversity in clinical care. Natalie is thrilled to be a 2023 APTA Association Leadership Scholar and is looking forward to continuing to develop her personal leadership plan within the APTA in a way that incorporates her passion for advocacy. When she is not in the clinic, Natalie enjoys traveling, reading, and exploring the mountains and deserts of Utah.
