In this research report, authors examined the various clinical characteristics and determinants to predict who may be at risk for developing obstetric fistula or obstetric palsy.

Obstetrics fistula and obstetrics palsy are types of pregnancy-related complications that if left untreated can lead to “debilitating physical health and social problems, including divorce, isolation, and stigma by their husband, families, and economic dependency.” Because those with obstetric fistula with maternal obstetric palsy often require physiotherapy interventions, it is imperative that providers are aware of the clinical determinants & characteristics of the injury.
