Ashley's Pelvic Health Journey

Posted By: Ashley L. Milia Member Spotlight,

I am so honored to be the CAPP-PELVIC September 2024 student scholarship recipient. I have always had a love for the field of Women's Health and fell in love with this setting once I learned of it in PT school. Unfortunately, we don't get much (if any) exposure to this setting in school and so when I found out about APTA Pelvic Health I instantly began my CAPP journey. This past year I have accomplished the Level 1 coursework and am now working through Level 2 along side being in PT school. My second clinical rotation is coming up where I will be working in a Women's Health clinic. I also had the opportunity to present my research poster (alongside my amazing group) at the FPTA 2024 Conference in Orlando, FL this year- Our topic was focused on incontinence in the geriatric population. I am so blessed for this journey and excited to see where it takes me in the future. I feel like I have found my calling!
