Contact Your Legislators to Ensure Medicare Legislation is Passed by the End of the Year

With the midterm elections complete and the end of the 117th Congress approaching, we are reaching the last few weeks to pass critical legislation to stop Medicare cuts.

By the end of 2022, Congress will likely pass large legislative packages, known as an omnibus bill, and we need to ensure that legislation that will address Medicare cuts and PTA supervision are included in these packages. We are asking Congress to include the Supporting Medicare Providers Act (H.R. 8800) and the SMART Act (H.R. 5536) in any year-end legislative package.

The inclusion of this legislation won’t happen if you, as the constituent, don’t ask for itYour members of Congress want to hear from you. In tandem with APTA lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill, your constituent voice is vital to ensuring this language makes it in before the end of the current Congress.

Take a few minutes to send an email to your members of Congress and be sure to add your personal story to let them know how this legislation will impact your patients and your practice. Thank you for taking action.

Please note a handful of Senate offices have strict character limits. If this applies to you, please click on “switch message” for a shortened version. The long version is titled “Include H.R. 8800 and H.R. 5536 in Any Year-End Legislative Package” and the short version is titled “Include H.R. 8800 and H.R. 5536 in Year-End Bills.” Thank you for your advocacy!
