Professional Bio

Lauren Garges is the director of the pelvic floor rehab program at St. Luke’s University Health Network and has specialized in pelvic floor dysfunction since 2004. She is board certified as a Women’s Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists. She was one of the first seven physical therapists in the US to obtain CAPP-Pelvic Certification through the APTA Academy of Pelvic Health in 2007 and added CAPP-OB Certification to her resume in 2018. Lauren graduated with a BS in Biology with honors from Bloomsburg University, an MSPT from Beaver College and a DPT from Arcadia University. She has served as a medical expert to articles about urinary incontinence, pelvic pain and women’s running for Runner’s World, Forbes and Health.com She has presented on numerous pelvic-health-related topics to colleagues within the medical field as well as local community groups and is a mentor to pelvic health clinicians in the physical therapy department. She has taught at St Luke’s School of Nursing on the topic of Postpartum Care and has presented numerous Grand Rounds for both the PT and OB/GYN departments. Lauren collaborates with many other medical providers to offer the best multidisciplinary care to patients with multiple co-morbidities. Lauren especially enjoys working with female athletes and loves to practice what she preaches with running, hiking, biking, and all things outdoors. Although she doesn’t run as extensively at this point, she has run the Boston Marathon five times and has served as a running pacer in numerous half and full marathons around the country. She is blessed with a fun and loving husband, daughter, and son and her greatest joy is spending time with them.
