Interstitial Cystitis Handout (Digital)
Patient Education
Interstitial Cystitis (IC) or Bladder Pain Syndrome (BPS) affects 1 in 4 women. People with IC have pain above their pelvic bone that happens when their bladder fills with urine. They may have other problems, such as peeing more often even though they don’t have a urinary tract infection. They might also have pain in their lower pelvis, low back, urethra, or the area around their vagina.
