Upcoming CAPP-OB Course Program Restructure & How It Affects Your CAPP-OB Journey!

Academy News,

Dear Current or Past CAPP-OB Course Course Attendee,

The Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy is restructuring the course pathway associated with the Certificate of Achievement in Obstetric Physical Therapy (CAPP-OB) program in 2025.

This multi-stage transition includes the restructuring of courses (OBF, OBA, OBI). This involves the retirement of courses and the launch of restructured courses in 2025.

If you are currently enrolled in Academy courses associated with the CAPP-OB Certificate of Achievement or are actively pursuing this certification, please review this important update to understand the reasons behind these changes and how they may impact you in your journey.

To obtain the CAPP-OB Certificate of Achievement, all required courses and the CAPP Case Reflection must be successfully completed within a 5-year time frame. As we move into the new year, a transition period will support current participants who are midway, allowing them to continue via the grandfathering process we have outlined for you.

Reasons for Changes

  • Streamline the flow and organization of course content
  • Facilitate quicker and more efficient updates with new evidence
  • Reduce redundancy by removing overlapping information across courses
  • Revamp all the instructional presentations and improve the learner experience
  • Empower individuals to access education tailored to a specific stage of the obstetric journey
  • Add new content, particularly on postpartum topics

How Will This Affect Me?

Recognizing that each participant may be at a different stage in the CAPP-OB program, we've outlined several common scenarios that may apply to you. We're confident these changes will strengthen the CAPP-OB program and better equip you to excel in obstetric physical therapy.
