My Path to Pelvic PT: A Student’s Journey

Posted By: Alicia Ellen Young Member Spotlight,

I found my love for physical therapy (PT) as a student-athlete receiving PT; I started taking advantage of observation hours in the clinic each day after school. Through my various jobs within physical therapy prior to starting graduate school, I developed a love for wound management and lymphedema care, pointing me into the direction of oncologic and pelvic floor PT. My long-term career goal would be to provide a complete, holistic approach to cancer-related care and pelvic floor dysfunction. I am grateful to APTA Pelvic Health for assisting me in being one step closer to my goal and living my dreams.
