Participate in the APTA #FightTheCut Virtual Rally: Send Your Letter to Congress Today
It’s time to rally and make some noise on Capitol Hill against proposed cuts to physical therapy services! The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ proposed 2021 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule includes deep cuts in payment to over 35 health care providers. Physical therapy services are slated for a 9% cut. If this cut becomes reality, it will devastate patient access to care and will shutter countless small businesses. CMS is ignoring the concerns expressed by patients, multiple health care groups, and some members of Congress about these proposed cuts — so it’s time for Congress to intervene.
Here’s where you come in. For the past several months, APTA members and supporters have done a great job in contacting Capitol Hill, but we need to keep the pressure on! This month is when Congress makes critical decisions that can include fixing the 9% pay cut.
We need you to join our APTA #FightTheCut Virtual Rally, today, Thursday, Sept. 10 by sending emails to your members of Congress. Our goal is to get an additional 50,000 emails, letters, and phone calls to Capitol Hill by the end of the day. Even if you have already sent an email, we want you to contact Congress again with this specific ask: Pass legislation this month to eliminate the 9% cut.
Tell Congress today to act to stop these cuts. Email, Tweet, and call your members of Congress today. Together we will #FightTheCut.
Encourage your fellow colleagues, patients, students, friends, and family to participate and send a letter of their own through the APTA Patient Action Center and join us on social media for check-ins throughout the day.
