Are you passionate about pediatric pelvic health and eager to make a lasting impact in the field? As a result of a member-driven petition, the Academy is launching a new Pediatric Pelvic Health Special Interest Group (SIG), and we're looking for four dedicated directors to lead this exciting 2-year pilot initiative. About the Pediatric Pelvic Health SIG
This SIG is dedicated to advancing pediatric pelvic health physical therapy through education, research, and advocacy. Our mission is to elevate the quality of care for children with pelvic health conditions by enhancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals, promoting innovative research, and advocating for the needs of pediatric patients and their families. As a director, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of pediatric pelvic health by driving awareness, expanding educational resources, and fostering collaboration within the physical therapy community and beyond.

Director Responsibilities
As a director, you'll play a crucial role in the SIG's success by:

  • Promoting Academy membership, events, and opportunities
  • Expanding and diversifying educational resources for professionals and the public
  • Facilitating the exchange of valuable information on pediatric pelvic health
  • Developing activities and campaigns to engage members and the community
  • Connecting with current and prospective members to grow the SIG's influence
  • Supporting the Academy Board of Directors with strategic initiatives

You'll also be responsible for maintaining consistent communication within the SIG and with the Academy Board, ensuring timely reports, meeting agendas, and progress updates.

Eligibility and Commitment
To be considered for a director position, you must be an active Academy member in good standing for at least one year by the application deadline of September 15, 2024. The term will run from February 2025 to February 2027, with planning meetings beginning in Fall 2024.
