Dr. Daniel Gruber Releases Part 2 Course of “Urogynecological Clinical Evaluation and Treatments”

The Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy has partnered again with Daniel D. Gruber, MS, MD, FACOG, FPMRS, Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, to provide Part 2 of the Urogynecological Clinical Evaluation and Treatments online video course. Dr. Gruber is fellowship trained and boarded in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Gruber has served as fellowship director at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Division Chief for FPMRS and has created numerous videos for training patients and surgeons. He has extensive research experience and has taught learners for many years from all disciplines, anything from Physical Therapy, medical students, residents, and fellows.  Dr. Gruber has performed over 3,000 clinical and surgical FPMRS procedures. Part 1: Urogynecological Clinical Evaluation and Treatments

This pre-recorded video course demonstrates a comprehensive urogynecological clinical evaluation and describe the most common diagnoses encountered in a typical female pelvic medicine or reconstructive surgery clinic. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the physical therapist will work closely with the women’s health care provider to evaluate the musculoskeletal causes of pain and dysfunction and to determine the proper interventions to manage the physical effects associated with pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, incontinence, urinary urgency and frequency, pregnancy or postpartum pain, and bowel dysfunction.

Course Objectives

1. Determine the appropriate process to perform a comprehensive, female urogynecologic examination.
2. Recognize the most common diagnoses encountered in a typical female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery clinic.
3. Recommend the most appropriate course of treatment for issues identified during a comprehensive, female urogynecologic examination.

Part 2: Urogynecological Clinical Evaluation and Treatments *NEW*

This comprehensive video presents the more common urogynecologic surgical procedures.  We review surgery for stress Incontinence, overactive Bladder, vaginal prolapse, diverticulum and various fistulas.  This course shows the major steps of the actual surgeries being performed.  There is also a review of the relevant anatomy and complications, such as mesh exposure and treatments.  This knowledge is vital for Physical Therapists to understand and co-manage patients with pelvic floor disorders.
