The Academy of Pelvic Health is proud to announce that Raquelle Geneviève Hafen, PT, DPT has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 PT Capitol Hill Day Scholarship! This prestigious award recognizes Raquelle’s commitment to advocacy, leadership, and the advancement of pelvic health physical therapy.

From July 14–15, 2025, Raquelle will travel to Washington, D.C., joining Academy leaders Gail Zitterkopf (Federal Affairs Liaison) and Kim Parker-Guerrero (President-Elect), along with physical therapy professionals and students from across the country. Together, they will meet with legislators to advocate for policies that impact the physical therapy profession and, most importantly, patient care. Learn more about this event.

Raquelle’s passion for maternal health, access to pelvic health services, and legislative engagement makes her a strong voice for the profession. As an early professional leader, she actively contributes to the Academy as Director of the Early Professional Special Interest Group and as a member of the Digital Media Committee for the Journal of Women’s and Pelvic Health Physical Therapy. Her advocacy experience extends beyond physical therapy, as she previously served in student government, representing thousands of students and influencing academic policy.

Reflecting on this opportunity, Raquelle shares her motivation for attending Capitol Hill Day:
"Advocating for our profession is essential to ensuring that every patient receives the care they need. By participating in this event, I hope to strengthen my understanding of the legislative process and use this knowledge to push for greater access to pelvic health services, especially in underserved communities."

We are honored to support Raquelle in this journey and can’t wait to see the impact she makes in Washington, D.C. and beyond. Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved recognition!
