Thank you for your interest in hosting an Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy course!

The Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy (formerly Section on Women’s Health) is a 501 (c) (6) non-profit professional association of more than 3,700 physical therapists (PTs), physical therapist assistants (PTAs), and student physical therapists (SPTs). Members provide the latest evidence-based physical therapy services to everyone from childbearing women to peri-menopausal mothers, young athletes to men with incontinence or other pelvic health complications. We host nationwide education courses, certifications, and Clinical Practice Guidelines for our members and patients. And we would like you to be a part of our journey.

Course Hosting Benefits: 

  • Up to TWO free complimentary spots in the course hosted (If you are hosting a lab, you will get two comp spots for each lab session)
  • Hosting courses strengthens the quality of education at your site.
  • Our courses present an up-to-date and evidence-based Obstetric and Pelvic curriculum.
  • All changes to our course curriculum occur in a peer review/consensus process, meaning all lecture and lab modules are only accepted after thorough review and group consensus decision. The Academy currently offers the only course curriculum with this level of rigorous standards.

Hosting Requirements:

  • Easy access to transportation, airports, hotels, and places to eat around your location
  • Large lecture space to hold at least 30-60 students comfortably, with the privacy necessary for Pelvic courses. We do give preferences to facilities that can accommodate 40+.
  • Lab tables for Pelvic and OB courses for lab practice (Minimum 10-15)
  • Linens and linen service available, multiple garbage cans for disposal of waste
  • Audiovisual capability including projection screens and equipment, computer system, and internet access
  • A local course site coordinator can be present during the course to help with trash removal, participant questions, facility issues, audiovisual issues, etc.
  • The ability to provide light, healthy refreshments (reimbursable by the Academy at $9/person/day)
  • Provide Masks & gloves to participants (reimbursable by the Academy)

Socials & Local Meetups

Our academy members attend a variety of social networking events, from PT Pub Nights across the country to the academy’s signature events that include our annual Board at the Bar social, WCS Breakfast and the General Business Meeting. “Board at the Bar” is a casual get-together and networking event attended by our members, Board members and volunteers.
