Abilene, TX

Personal Statement

“I have served on the CAPP-Pelvic Committee since 2015 in several roles. I believe that during this time of service I have grown to understand the importance that education plays for the Academy. In leading the volunteers and committees, it is important to understand the education gap that exists in all course work available in the US and abroad to be able to provide the Academy with the steps going forward to expand and bridge such gaps. I have served as a lab assistant and instructor for Academy courses and understand the classroom, both live and virtual. This will play a vital role looking ahead.

As someone currently in direct patient care, I understand the importance of transferring the concepts and principles learned from pelvic education to the patient in an effective manner.  It is exciting that the Academy can lead all levels of practitioners into the next decade with strength, poise, and empowerment through education, bridging the gaps that exist and finding ways to shape the future. Through a strong sense of discipline and organization, I believe that I could lead the Academy into the next decade.

We will continue to develop webinars, increase resources for the therapist, and develop more avenues for coursework and partnerships, while remaining aware of the growing needs of our members. I would like the chance to bring these items to the Board as they arise and further develop the curriculum of Pelvic Health for the lifelong learner in all of us.”
