Checklist

If you’ve registered for one of our in-person or live webinar courses, we want to ensure you’re prepared! Explore our attendee checklist below and most importantly, make sure you have access to the Learning Center prior to the course so that you can complete your assignments or pre-readings in advance and know where everything is located in the Learning Center.

 

🎯 Access the Learning Center

The Learning Center contains your lecture manual, online discussion boards, your pre-readings, post-course survey and final exam. We highly recommend for you to login early and make sure you have access to everything BEFORE the course. If you are having trouble logging in, please make sure you are using the email you used to register for the course (Forgot? Check your inbox to see in which inbox your purchase confirmation from SoWH landed). If you are still having trouble logging in, please contact our office M-F 9am-5pm EST for assistance at kalki@aptapelvichealth.org

Learning Center Log-In

 

Username: Your Email Address
Password: LastnameAPTAID#(i.e. Smith12345). If you are a non-member, your password is what you set it to be when you created your online account.
Click on the Learning Center button in the top menu.

 

🎯 Join the Discussion Boards

Discussion boards are available in your Learning Center. Connect with fellow participants before, during or after the course by posting in the provided Discussion Boards.

🎯 Complete Your Pre-Course Assignments

Check the Learning Center for required and recommended pre-readings that you can complete prior to attending the in-person or live webinar course. Although not all courses require pre-readings, most courses do. If you are taking the Pelvic Health Physical Therapy Level 3 (hybrid course), make sure to complete the online portion prior to attending the course.

🎯 Review  the Anatomy

We highly recommend for you to review anatomy terminology prior to attending the course. If you are a 2nd or 3rd year PT Student, we recommend you to have some orthopedic/ musculoskeletal coursework in your curriculum prior to attending the course.

🎯 Take Your Exam/Download Your Certificate

On the Monday following the course, the Final Exam and Post-Course Survey will appear in your left-hand menu in your Learning Center. “Launch” the course in your Learning Center, complete the survey, and pass the exam in order to obtain a Certificate of Completion. Once you pass the exam (75% or higher), you will be able to download your Certificate of Completion which will include your full name, course location/dates and number of contact hours. You have up to 3 attempts to pass the final exam.

🎯 Arrive on Time

Punctuality is important and and if not met, will result in forfeiture of contact hours whether you are attending an in-person or live webinar course. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the course (we will be taking attendance) and return promptly from your lunch break(s) or AM/PM breaks. For in-person courses: If you are driving in, we highly recommend for you to arrive at least 15 minutes early especially if you are not familiar with the parking area. 

🎯 Have Your Equipment Ready

Lecture Manuals are provided only in digital format and can be downloaded 2 weeks ahead of the course. Pack your laptop and charging cord if you wish to annotate the Lecture Manual or take notes electronically. Wi-Fi and extension cords will be provided for in-person courses. The Learning Center web application is not compatible with tablets so we recommend for you to bring your laptop instead. Laptops are not required on-site for in-person courses but attendees find it easier to type notes on a laptop.

🎯 Printed Lecture Manual

Do not want to use a laptop and prefer using a printed lecture manual? You can print it at your local FedEx Kinkos, Staples or your workplace (if your workplace allows it). Although rare, some printing shops require an authorization letter from the Publisher (SoWH) that permits you to make a copy of our copyrighted material. Call your printing shop to double check before making the trip to the store. Please contact us at kalki@aptapelvichealth.org if you need a letter.

🎯 Notebook & Pens

Are you a fast writer or don’t like to type notes on a laptop? Bring a notebook! Think about the method you want to use to take notes and come prepared!

🎯 Technology and Desk Set-Up (if taking a live WEBINAR course)

Webinar Technology Requirements:

  • PC/Laptop/Mobile Phone
  • Internet Connection (Wi-Fi or Wired Internet)
  • Microphone (you can mute/unmute yourself)
  • Webcam (if you want others to see you online)
  • No background noise (try to sit in a quiet room)
  • You will be muted upon entry but you can unmute yourself when you wish to contribute to the conversation or ask a question!

🎯 Technology and Desk Set-Up (if taking a pre-recorded online course / not live course)

Technology Requirements:

  • PC/Laptop/Mobile Phone
  • Internet Connection (Wi-Fi or Wired Internet)
  • Our online prerecorded courses are offered via PDF handout format with a post-reading quiz/assessment or prerecorded video. Please note that our prerecorded online course and live webinar courses are different. In Live Webinars, the instructor provides live, real-time instruction.

 

Plan Your Trip

🏨  Hotel Lodging (if attending in-person course)

Have you booked your hotel room? Stay tuned for hotel room blocks and/or discounted rates here. If you wish to save money on a hotel room, there may be some like-minded course participants that would be open to sharing a hotel room. Once you are registered for the course, you may browse the discussion board inside your course web page located in the SoWH Learning Center and post about wanting to share a room.

✈️ Air & Ground Travel (if attending in-person course)

Make sure to book your return flight with enough cushion time between the time the course ends on Sunday and boarding time. If you leave the course early due to your flight schedule, your CEUs may be deducted. To obtain your CEUs, you must attend the course in its entirety.

Your hotel may be in walking distance to the course or you may need to find ground transportation to get to the course if it is not in walking distance. TIP: Some hotels provide complimentary shuttles to nearby offices/attractions within a 2-3 mile radius. Inquire with your hotel front desk if the hotel shuttle can drop you off at the course address and/or if they can pick you up from the course address after the course day ends.

👚 Dress Code & Grooming (if attending in-person course)

If you taking a course that includes external or internal lab work, we encourage you to wear loose-fitting clothing that is easy to move around in. Some examples of loose-fitting clothing are yoga attire, scrubs or lounge clothing.

We encourage you to bring a warm sweater in case it gets cold in the lecture or lab room. Temperature in the meeting spaces can fluctuate around the year.

If you have long hair, please bring a hair tie to keep hair away during the lab work (if your course includes lab activities). For all courses that include internal lab, it is important to keep your nails short and groomed so that you do not puncture the exam gloves and are able to perform internal lab activities.

📅 Menstrual Cycle (if attending in-person course)

If you are taking a course that includes intra-vaginal and intra-rectal exam labs and find yourself on your menstrual cycle during the course weekend, you can still participate in all external and internal lab activities. The SoWH faculty will provide you with flexible menstrual cups and will show you how to use them.

💟 Pumping Room (if attending in-person course)

If you’re breastfeeding and need a space to pump at the course, please contact the office at hello@aptapelvichealth.org at least 4 weeks before the course to request a private pumping space.

🍌 Snacks (if attending in-person course)

Light breakfast AM and afternoon PM snacks and refreshments will be provided. Lunch is on own so make sure to pick up a list of nearby restaurants when you check in on Day #1 of the course. Occasionally when we have exhibitors, complimentary lunch is provided for one of the course days (PH1 Courses).

We try to provide snacks based on general dietary restrictions so that there is something for everyone. If you are bringing your own lunch and need space to store it, please contact us at hello@aptapelvichealth.org so that we can arrange for a fridge in or near the course classroom.

Cancellations, Transfers, Refunds

💸 Refunds

Full Refund (minus $75 admin fee) 
You must cancel your registration at least 4 weeks prior to the course to receive a 100% refund on the registration. Administrative fee of $75 applies to all refunds.

50% Refund (minus $75 admin fee) 

You must cancel your registration at least 2 weeks prior to the course to receive a 50% refund on your registration with exceptions for funerals, serious health conditions or other extenuating circumstances preventing a registrant from attending the course. Administrative fee of $75 applies to all refunds.

No Refund
If you cancel your registration less than 2 weeks prior to the course.

➡️ Transfers

SoWH allows registrants to transfer course registrations to another same SoWH course that is hosted at a different location/date within the same calendar year. Transfer requests must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the course. No transfers are allowed within 2 weeks of the course start date and will be considered a cancellation.

$75 Transfer Fee
A transfer fee is applied for any course registration transfers, which must be made 2 weeks prior to the course.

 

❌ Course Cancellations

In the event that SoWH must cancel the scheduled course due to inclement weather, faculty illness or other extenuating circumstances, SoWH will refund all course registration fees in full.
