How to Navigate the CSM Programming Site

All on-demand courses are now ready for you to access. Posters, Section Meetings/Events, and Marketplace & Special Offers are available on the APTA CSM Conference website. Live programming begins on February 1, 2021 with content from Acute Care, Aquatics, Federal, and Orthopaedic sections. Here’s how to access the content:

  • From the conference home page, click on Sign In on the left navigation bar.
  • Log in using the email and password you use to log in to APTA’s website. If you changed emails, remember to use the most recent one.
  • Once you are logged in, you can choose to browse by day, section, live content, on-demand content, and more.
  • By successfully completing posttests you can gain up to 2.0 CEUs* by March 31. Once you reach that limit, you will still be able to access other content.
  • Sections have chosen “hot topics” to showcase, and they are marked with a flame symbol next to them.
  • Remember to download your certificate after you successfully complete each posttest. Certificates must be downloaded by March 31.

  • 8:30 PM – 9:30 PM ET – Board at the Bar. Meet our Board members and ask about the nominations and elections process and hear them talk about their elected positions. 
  • 9:30 PM – 10:30 PM ET – Open session. Learn about the Academy’s Special Interest Groups and how to get involved.

Post-Conference: Let’s Talk About Sex!  Sex Counseling for the Pelvic Health Therapist

Sexual counseling within the physical therapy profession is essential for helping patients optimize their sexual function as their bodies are changing throughout the lifespan. To be an effective counselor, you have to understand the intersecting factors of race, gender, orientation, culture, and ability. For providers in all specialties (pelvic health, neuro, ortho, oncology) talking about sex can seem tricky, taboo, and maybe even nebulous. In this course, we aim to give you a more in-depth understanding of human sexuality and straight-forward counseling tools and skills to help your patients engage in satisfying sexual practices. This postconference course is available for $235 for APTA Academy Members and $385 for others. Post-Conference: Gynecologic Cancer and Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy: A Research Update

Speaker: Nelly Faghani, PT

Cancers in the pelvis account for a relatively large percentage of new diagnoses for both cis-males and females. Side effects can occur with any type of cancer treatment, whether that be surgical, radiation, or chemotherapy. The severity and type of side effects will depend on the specific area or organs effected, size of area treated, type and amount of surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and overall health and co-morbidities. Pelvic health physiotherapy is uniquely positioned to address symptoms of cancer treatment including urinary, bowel and sexual dysfunction. This evidenced based course discusses a whole-person approach that can help improve the quality of life in this extremely under-serviced population. This postconference course is available for $235 for APTA Academy Members and $385 for others.
