General Business Meeting

New Format: Live-Streamed Webinar

Saturday, February 6, 2020

Hosted by the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy

Each year, the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy hosts its in-person 2-hour General Business Meeting at the APTA’s Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) in January or February whenever the conference occurs. The Academy Board of Directors has voted to turn this traditionally in-person business meeting into a virtual, live streamed webinar format so that more members are able to attend nationally and internationally before CSM.  The Academy understands that not all Academy members attend the CSM conference so this opportunity will help increase attendance numbers membership-wide. Please note that the Academy’s Town Hall which traditionally follows the General Business Meeting will still be held in-person at CSM followed by our Annual Awards Ceremony.

What is the General Business Meeting?

Hear your elected Board of Officers and Directors give an overview of organizational performance toward our mission and strategic plan in 2020. The presentation will highlight achievements across the Academy’s four pillars: Education, Community, Research/Knowledge and Operational Excellence. Learn about the work of the Academy’s committee volunteers, reached milestones and the financial health of the organization. The meeting will conclude with a swearing in of new officers, directors and elected members and a call for nominations for the 2021 elections. For 2021, the Academy Board has decided to host this meeting virtually. Stay tuned for additional updates and instructions on how to attend this online, live-streamed meeting.

What is a Town Hall?

The Town Hall is a live, in-person forum held at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting and open to members of the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy. Members have the opportunity to ask the Board of Directors questions in-person about the organization’s performance, governance and strategic operations. This meeting provides an opportunity for members to also suggest ideas and strategic initiatives to help address the profession’s global challenges and trends.
