The Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy’s Pessary Task Force recently developed a new Position Statement titled “Pessary Fitting and Management”. The Academy is now working on establishing educational criteria and courses that will support physical therapy professionals in the US to fit and manage pessaries. Courses will need to address not only pessary fitting and management but also billing, state specific Practice Act issues, and other logistics specific to practicing in the US. The Academy’s Education Review Committee (ERC) will be vetting collaborative course submissions to determine courses that meet this criteria.
