I am so pleased to announce that the Journal of Women’s Health Physical Therapy has a new Digital Media Coordinator. Â
In her own words, Rita explains why she is such a good fit for this new role with JWHPT.
I credit much of my knowledge and clinical skill acquisition to APTA coursework, the scholarship of my colleagues in the global therapy community, and the advancement of research in the field. In my usual daily routine as a clinician, combing through the evidence when I have a clinical question and staying abreast of new research can be a timely pursuit. I rely on social media and email subscriptions like the SMARTbrief and SoWH Weekly Updates to direct me to high quality research updates. I am pleased to work in collaboration with the editorial board and the future Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy to help bring the mission of the JWHPT to life through dissemination of evidence through social media. I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to the organization that has offered me so much in the development of my career as a women’s health clinician.
Rita will be assisted in the digital media promotion of JWHPT by two enthusiastic, passionate, and skilled students. Ellen Meisner finishing her last year of her doctorate in physical therapy at the Mayo clinic school of Health Sciences in Rochester, Minnesota and Lindsay Durand a second year physical therapy student at Washington University in St. Louis. The JWHPT editorial board is excited to work with this talented digital media team. Please join me in welcoming Rita, Ellen and Lindsay. Look for them on Facebook and twitter.
