The Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy (APTA Pelvic Health) reaches thousands of patients, physical therapy professionals, general physicians and the general public through its awareness and education. The revenue generated from our advertising, affiliate and sponsorship partnerships help fund our education, research and operation programs so that we can provide advancement opportunities to our professional society of Physical Therapists (PTs), Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and Student Physical Therapists (SPTs), advance research, increase practice tools and improve patient care. In exchange, the Academy provides its physical therapy professionals exposure to new products and services offered by companies inside and outside the physical therapy industry. 

Step 1: Get Pre-Approved

Prospective advertisers and sponsors must get pre-approved by the Board of Directors at the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy before proceeding to purchase sponsorship and advertising packages. The Board of Directors reviews each company’s request to ensure that the product/service being advertised is appropriate and aligns with the Academy’s mission. Review turnaround time is 7 business days. EXEMPTIONS: You do not have to complete this pre-approval form if you are a PT job listing advertiser, a previously approved advertiser/sponsor or an APTA Pelvic Health partner.

The Academy Business Directory is a web-based resource directory of physical therapy health product ads and services. Whether you are a patient or practitioner, this is your one-stop shop for physical rehabilitation education, products, equipment and supplies for personal use or your own practice! On average, the Business Directory web page is visited by 150 shoppers each month and is advertised in all Academy course materials. (Specs: 300px x 250px PNG or JPG)

Digital Course Manual Ad

Include a full page ad (8.5 x 11 in) in one of the Academy’s digital course manuals. Course manuals are provided electronically to course registrants which registrants can access for up to 1 year after the course concludes. Registrants are able to download the course manual PDF and store with themselves forever. The course manual is enriched with evidence and education information, registrants find it very important to maintain the manual in their records and some even prefer to print the manual. Advertising Guidelines

Each advertiser and sometimes the products the advertiser is promoting are vetted by the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy Board of Directors prior to being approved to advertise. The Board reviews each company to ensure that the product/service being advertised is appropriate and aligns with the Academy’s mission and other guidelines listed below.

Guidelines for Vetting Potential Advertisers

  • The Board will be alerted and given opportunity to comment on any potential advertiser before making a decision on whether to accept or decline the advertiser. 
  • Company or product must align with the APHPT mission and vision
  • Company or product must be complementary to the pelvic and abdominal health physical therapy profession
  • Company must provide adequate amount of specific and at minimum moderate quality evidence-based research support the program/product, namely at least 3 peer-reviewed journal articles within the last 10 years
  • Company and advertised program/products must be relevant to APHPT members (PTs, PTAs, SPTs in pelvic /abdominal health), practice and safe for consumers
  • Company must demonstrate ethical business practices

Competing Course Definitions and Guidelines

  • A “competing course” is one that offers the same or similar educational content as the Academy such as the Academy’s CAPP or Collaborative Courses, and is aimed at the same target audience.
  • A “non-competing course” is one that does not offer the same or similar educational content as Academy courses, including and beyond CAPP or Collaborative Courses, even if aimed at the same target audience
  • Target audience: physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, physical therapy students, and physical therapy assistant students.
  • The Academy Board of Directors will make the final decision to determine if a course is considered to be a “competing course” and if it promotes services appropriately.

The Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy (APTA Pelvic Health) is a not-for-profit, 501 (c) (6) professional association offering continuing education and top-quality training to PTs, PTAs and SPTs and connects physical therapy practitioners, educators and private practice owners in order to develop, share, and advance leading practices. For over forty years, the association has offered a collective, timely view on evolving themes shaping the pelvic health and physical therapy industry. Members provide the latest evidence-based pelvic and abdominal physical therapy services to men, women, transgender, pediatric and elderly populations. APTA Pelvic Health is a component of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Pelvic Floor health is so important. Knowledge of a good product is key. We’d like to think that our products are helping APTA Pelvic Health, when in fact APTA Pelvic Health is helping our products obtain more exposure during its courses.
